The United Way of Lee County believes strong families are built on strong support systems. Support to obtain financial stability, become and maintain independence, care for families and be contributing members of the community is essential for the wellbeing of our community members. That is why we are committed to supporting family resources for our community which include the following organizations: 

  

2-1-1 Community Connections

2-1-1 provides free and confidential information and referrals for health and human services. It provides a one-stop service to callers seeking information about resources in the community for everyday needs and in times of crisis. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more. 2-1-1 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Special Deliveries of East Alabama Mental Health

Special Deliveries aims to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect through the provision of parent education, counseling, and case management services for pregnant women and families with children ages 0 – kindergarten entry who reside in Lee County. Services are provided primarily in the home setting and are based on the latest research in the field of child abuse prevention. Services are holistic, comprehensive, and focused on building family strengths so that children are safe, health, and ready to learn when they enter school.

Keeping Family Connections of Twin Cedars

Keeping Family Connections meets the supervised visitation needs of families and agencies by providing regularly scheduled supervised visitation for non-custodial parents and their children on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis in a secure comfortable facility.

Lee County CASA provides carefully screened, trained and supervised volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children in dependency proceedings yielding a safe and permanent home where the child can thrive.

Project Uplift of Lee County Youth Development Center

Project Uplift is a program operating for the benefit of school age children in Lee County, AL. Its founders designed this one-to-one mentoring program to fulfill two important goals; reduce and prevent juvenile delinquency in Lee County and build self-esteem. Project Uplift fulfills this mission by pairing children 5-12 years of age with positive adult role models.
