The Envision Opelika Foundation is hosting the annual Opelika Giving Day on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. This online fundraising challenge provides an easy and exciting way to support local non-profits, celebrate the joy of helping others, and inspire a new culture of giving within our community.
Our project: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is the flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation. It reaches more children than any other early childhood book gifting program, and mails free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until age five, no matter their family’s income. As Lee County's local program partner, the UWLC recruits and manages children in the program while covering book and shipping costs. It is approximately $30 per child enrolled in the program per calendar year. With currently over 1,400 children enrolled, the program costs the UWLC over $3,000 per month. Please donate to ensure this program remains available to all eligible Lee County children!
