This is a nationwide event and is the largest one day food drive in the country. Postal customers can leave a bag of non-perishable food at their mailbox early on that day, and the letter carriers will pick up the food and get it to the Food Bank. This drive is critical for food banks in order to have the food
that is needed over the summertime when donations tend to decrease.
